The Special Investigations Unit is a bureau of elite prosecutors handling long range, complex investigations and prosecutions of major narcotics violators.The offenders being investigated and prosecuted were international, national and local narcotics dealers who were involved in the manufacturing and distribution large quantities of narcotics.Mr. Tormey, as Bureau Chief, was responsible for the running of the bureau, lending assistance to attorneys in his bureau, making critical decisions on all cases as well as trying cases that he and others had worked on.
